7 Low Commitment Ways to Create Healthy Habits That Stick

We all need healthy habits in our lives. And funnily enough, it is the unhealthy ones that stick. And when it comes to losing weight, those are the habits that you want to kick.

If you want to lose weight, you have to work hard and don’t look back. The important steps towards losing weight are working out, healthy eating, and tracking your calories.

People who are obsessive about goals can totally do it. But people like us need a little more motivation. And one cheat day becomes two, then three, and before you know it, your unhealthy habits are back.

But there a few healthy habits that are easy and don’t require much commitment. Want to know what they are? Great, scroll down!

1.      Sugar is Your Enemy

Make this a mantra – sugar is your enemy. Remind yourself of it every time you start craving cake. We know that it is hard to go cold turkey. And if you are someone who does not like the taste of black coffee, it will be even harder for you.

But all you have to do is cut back gradually. If you are taking two spoons of sugar, cut back to one, then half, and then eventually stop taking it.

Trust us, it will be worth it.

2.      Say No to Elevators

Is your office on the eighth floor? Perfect, up, up, up, and away we go!

Make it a habit of taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Your glutes will be in shape in just a few months.

3.      Take the Long Way

Do you park your car just outside your house or work? Does your walking routine consist of you leaving the car and sitting behind your desk? You call that an exercise?

Park your car away from your destination and walk to your office. And don’t say you will get late; you can afford to leave a few minutes early.

4.      Keep 20 Minutes Aside

One of the most common excuses we hear about ditching exercises is – “we don’t get the time.”

Well, you can certainly take 20 minutes out of the day. Just 20 minutes will work wonders in your quest to become toned.

5.      Water is Your New Best Friend

Do you want to know a great trick that will help you stay away from overeating? It’s water. If you drink a few glasses of water 30 minutes before your meal, you won’t be inclined to overeat.

Not to mention it is necessary to stay hydrated.

6.      Healthy Food is the Way to Go

Nothing to eat? No problem, let’s order pizza!

Yeah, that is not going to help. You need three basic ingredients on your plate – proteins, carbs, and healthy fats. And the best part is, they all come in the form of vegetables. That means a short prep time.

7.      Say no to Deprivation

Craving a scoop of ice cream? Go get it, tiger. But remember to burn it off with a few minutes of exercise. AND as always, make sure it is dairy-free!

Yeah, make it a habit that whenever you do slip up and eat junk, burn it off.

Aren’t these things totally doable? Perfect, why don’t you start today? And no, don’t say you will start from Monday, we know that trick. You will be in the best shape in no time.
