We have created a meat-less/dairy-free/macro friendly Vegan Philly Cheesesteak! While “standard” Philly Cheese Steak recipes are loaded with unhealthy animal products and undesirable macro nutrients, our recipe is guilt-free and matches the original Philly Cheesesteak in taste! Vegan, cruelty free, cholesterol free, and packed with muscle building protein!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 small onion, cut in half and thinly sliced
  • 1 thinly sliced pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
  • 6 oz. seitan
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp. Himalayan salt
  • ¼ cup Daiya dairy free American cheese
  • 1 whole grain sub
  • 1 tbsp. ketchup

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tsp. olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the peppers and onion for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cover and reduce the heat to low for 5 minutes, or until the onion becomes soft and translucent. Uncover and increase to medium-high heat. Add garlic cloves, and chopped seitan. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt & pepper over the seitan while stirring it. Cook for approximately 4 minutes or until the seitan starts to turn golden. Place the Daiya cheese shreds on top of the seitan mixture and reduce the heat to low. When the cheese is melted, pile onto your toasted whole grain sub top ketchup if desired.
